A BLOG TO DIE FOR.........

Since I started this blog a few years ago, I always wanted my blog to be 'one of those blogs'. The ones that I frequent. You know the blogs that you check every day, because the author is creating a very exciting experience that you want to be included in! The type of blog that you cant wait to read every morning.
Mine has never been like that! I have come up with the 5 top reasons why mine is not like that!
5. Because I dont update it every day!
4. Because I generally write about my kids, including too many photos
3. Because I am not a poetic writer!
2. Because I dont think anyone except aunty Nancy reads it!
1. Because my life is just not that interesting!
But I can always dream that one day, I will have more than one follower.

Can you please leave a comment if you have checked in.

Finding Treasures

I was cleaning out the filing cupboard today. (the cupboard I throw everything into, so that they can be filed when I get around to it) Well actually, I was looking for something in there and after an hour of finding treasures, forgot what I was originally looking for! I am still not sure what I was looking for, but imagine that in the next day or 2 it will come to me.

This cupboard just keeps getting fuller and fuller every year and I had no idea what was in it!

I came across some treasures...

I found a Fathers Day Card, I bought for my dad 3 years ago, still sealed in the plastic wrap it came in.

It reads
JUST FOR YOU DAD ON FATHERS DAY

You are the first when it comes to friendship,
First when it comes to fun
And for showing you care and always being there
You'd have to be NUMBER ONE

Its time to celebrate and raise a glass or two,
To toast a special person, and that of course is YOU

So I have clipped it to the September page of the wall calander so that he actually gets it this year!

Which actually reminds me of Fathers day this past year. A week before fathers day Shannen and I went to Sydney for the Rock Estedford Challenge that her school got into. (Shannen was performing in it). And Nikki met me there. So she had bought her Fathers Day Card for dad so that I could pass it onto him when we got back to Nowra.

Well as usual I put it on the bookshelf, in my entry and ......... Forgot about it! Anyway, I had bought cards for the kids to give there dad. And these were also put on the book shelf (this is where all mail goes, everyone checks it as they walk through the door. Just a central place that we know everyone looks.

So Fathers day Rocks around and its time for the kids to give their dad his card and presents, and you can imagine what happened! Yes (H) opened my dads card, and was quite taken aback that Nikki Don and Zachary had sent him a card and we had not gotten anything for Don!

Another treasure I found was a card Nikki had sent to me on my Birthday a few years back.
I kept it because the wording was beautiful!

My Sister, My Friend

I love the way
we've grown closer and closer
over the years
Being sisters has been wonderful,
but I am especially grateful

for the way our relationship
has deepened and grown

into a very special friendship--
one that means more to me
than I could ever tell you
I love the way
we're always there
for each other.
the way we share everything
from memories
to dreams
from laughter
to tears
I love the way
even when we're not together,
we're with
one another in ways
that are unique
only to sisters.
Thank you for being you--
for being everything
a sister could be...
and more.

The card wording was by Glends Allen

The last thing I found was a birthday card I bought for Cindy's 18th Birthday. (Again still in the original plastic wrap). Cindy will turn 21 in a month time! I think I may just combine her 18th and 21st birthday cards in One.......That way she only needs to keep 1 card instead of two.

Does anyone see a pattern emerging when it comes to me and cards?? See If i ever said I bought a card but you just didnt get it.... I probibly did!

Take care

Ah Lee, Great blogging. I can relate. Your filing system is what we call a POC (Pile of Crap). We have a poc on the table for catalogues, a poc on the buffet for mail that needs attention then just accumulates, then theres those hidden pocs, you know, like when you're visitors are about to arrive so it's all shoved in the bottom drawer with the sticky tape.

And cards, lol. Last year on the freebie section of eb I stumbled on a website giving awesome boxes with dividers to put your cards in. So now, when I buy a card, I put it in there to forget about it rather than in a poc. LOL. God, we're good aren't we?!

Hmmmm, that was like a blog in itself rather than a comment.

Hi Leanne, I read ur blog and i found it uplifting to know that others stow things away for later as i do. Although i have to admit the later might be a long time later and the cards might be a bit outdated but never mind the thought was there at the time. I really enjoyed the 2nd card i wish i had a sister to send it too.
Take care.
