Kane went to my best friends house today to play with her boys. And whilst there, fell off their small trampoline. Hurting his wrist, Katrina put some Ice on it and bought him home to me.
He was in a fair bit of pain, so I thought it best to take him straight to the hospital to have it checked. (Not thinking there was anything really wrong, but taking the usual precaution we do as parents!)
To my suprise, he had broken two bones and caused a bit if damage to the bone as well (it is what I call BENT) not sure what the medical term is!
So we had to go through endless xrays and prodding and moving by the doctors before the diagnosis was made.
He was given pain killer and placed in a back slab, and we have to go to see the orthopedic sergeon in Wollongong tomorrow. Thankfully because he had had no other drugs, we were able to come home for the night, and can make our own way to wollongong tomorrow.
Although Kane is very sore and uncomfortable at the moment he is much more comfortable at home.
Just praying he does not need surgery, the doctor here said he doubt he will need anything more than alignment, but that the surgeon will make the decision after he looks at it. I am thinking this means more xrays in wollongong. I feel so sorry for Kane, he is in lots of pain, and will have to go through it again tomorrow.
He got a Bravery Award from the doctors at Shoalhaven Hospital. He was so very brave considering the extent of the damage.
I must say, Katrina is also feeling terrible about the whole thing, and I have assured her I dont hold her responsible. But Kat being Kat is blaming herself. DONT KAT, you know and I know Kane was told not to doany tricks at your house and yet he did them anyway...
I am very thankful that it happened at your house Kat because I know he got the best care and attention possible. I know you would do everything for my kids like they were your own.
You are my best friend. And I love you

Oh Leanne ... your title to this entry said it all! But on the bright side he must have been so proud to win the bravery award! Also very encouraging that the Dr here thought that it would probably only need alignment, that bend in the bone is really quite something. What a brave little man you have.
