HELLOOOO she is alergic to penicillin!!!

The kids have all been sick with the flu and the likes in the past 2 weeks. But Shannen has copped it the worst. Thanks to the stupid doctor! As many of you are aware, Shannen is allergic to penicillin.

So we went to the doctors last Wednesday week as she had been coughing and spluttering for about 5 days, since she got back from the snow. He said she has the flu but was reluctant to prescribe anything that early on in the piece. Fast forward to Monday last week and she was coughing so bad that it hurt when she breathed. Rang to get her in to see a DR ad couldn't get an appointment. Monday night have to take her to the hospital, sit there for 4 hours and when we are in taken in eventually, we don't even warm the seat with our bums before we are sent home!

Tuesday I make another appointment for the DR and he prescribes her something, Your allergic to penicillin he says, well the rash described sounds more like a symptom to the illness being treated and not as an allergy he says. He prescribes her the most distant relative to penicillin but it is still a strain of penicillin. NOT HAPPY< but he is a dr and has had years and years of training and I am just a MUM!!! Get script filled and start medicine Tuesday night. Not getting better, wednesday morning , not getting better, wednesday night starts itching, terrible itching.

Yes she reacts to the medicine. Thursday morning wakes with a rash which spreads all over her face, stop medication straight away! Poor bugger, a teenanger with this hidious rash over her face. Refuses to leave the house.

Make emergency dr appointment. get in to see different doctor within the hour.

She has had a reaction to the penicillin... REALLY???????

Rash is a allergy, Mum is she an asthmatic?? NO. ok she has a closing of the windpipe, I can hear a weezing similar to asthma, which is a mild Anaphylaxis reaction
Quit taking medication DONE
Use Ventilin to help open airways,
take Telfast for rash
If she has a reaction to anything like this again, ring an ambulance!!
No further problems but still not recovering from original complaint!!

Today I have Kane and Shan home, Steph is going to school though, Will take a huge bag of lollies to keep her home!!

Still going to do more on the last 10 years and also update you on the Lunch with friends 8 years down the track, but need some time to get kids better.

Shan has her braces put on , Wednesday, will have to post a pic of her smile before we head off!.
