Once again I am the parent who ends up taking the TEN Teenagers to Kiama this time for the Scavenger Hunt. This is becomming a bit of a tradition. So how did the 4th scavenger Hunt go, you ask???
We meet at the train Station at 7:30am, me with Steff, Kane, Shannen and Ashleigh, (Ash has come down from Goulburn on Thursday to participate.... ) and we meet up with the other 7 kids. We get to Kiama just before 8:30 and nothing is open..... (Little set back with letting the KIDS organise it this time.) So we go and get a drink in a cafe and the lady behind the register says we should go and see the blow hole. Its windy, the seas are rough and it will be blowing really well.
So we take the 15 minute walk to the lighthouse and blow hole. And YES it was really blowing.... Kids thought it was great........
Until the biggest wave came and absolutly drenched them all except Shannen and Steph. Like these kids were dripping wet. I was laughing so hard I nearly peed myself!! It was the funniest thing EVER....
We were then Removed from the lower level and it is taped off because it is TOO DANGEROUS.
BTW....There was about 20 people who were on the upper level of the blowhole viewing area who were also laughing their heads off...
Until I realize that we are 2 hours away from the next train home and these kids look like they went swimming fullly clothed. So there was a Sallvos Boutique in the main street, so $70 later and most of the kids are dry, and the shops are beginning to open, so we (they) begin the scavenger hunt. I take kANE AND sTEPHANIE TO THE PARK, wHERE i FREEZE my arse off while they play.
While sitting and waiting, I hear two people talking about the blow hole lower level being blocked off. And said yes we were there when they decided to block it off, She asked me If I had seen all the kids get satuted and kicked out of the lower level.. I just nod and said yeah, i heard that had happened...................... and went to push steff on the swings......
Stuff spreads really quickly in small towns... I dont mention that I am the parent that was accompanying these kids.......
Lunch time comes and we all have lunch, kids finish scavenger hunt and we go on the earlier train home.
All together I think they Once again have a great time.
I'm exhausted, kids are pumped, We end up having Ash and Jazzy sleep over.
We go and get Scary movies for them so One of them can watch it while the other 2 hide under the blanked and have the movie explained to them.......
Stephanie has gone and played with her friend Kalinda today. They will probibly be going to Kalindas Grandads shop to see they. This will be very hard on Steff......... The shop happens to be the Fudge and Ice Cream shop in Kangaroo Valley!!!!!
She wont like that AT ALL.................
Till next time...........
Seeya
BTW... SCHOOL GOES BACK ON TUESDAY, YYYYAAAAHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I CAN HEAR THE PARENTS CHEERING ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A BLOG TO DIE FOR.........
Since I started this blog a few years ago, I always wanted my blog to be 'one of those blogs'. The ones that I frequent. You know the blogs that you check every day, because the author is creating a very exciting experience that you want to be included in! The type of blog that you cant wait to read every morning.
Mine has never been like that! I have come up with the 5 top reasons why mine is not like that!
5. Because I dont update it every day!
4. Because I generally write about my kids, including too many photos
3. Because I am not a poetic writer!
2. Because I dont think anyone except aunty Nancy reads it!
1. Because my life is just not that interesting!
But I can always dream that one day, I will have more than one follower.
Can you please leave a comment if you have checked in.
