Well, Shannen wanted to get a job cos 2 of her friends have one. Mind you Jazzy is 14 1/2 and Jimmy is 15. So we had to print up a resume. HOW do you print up a resume for someone who has no experience. THAT WAS THE HARD PART.
The easy part was having her dress nice and go and hand it in to the shop owners. So at 11am we went into town so she could hand it around.By 12 noon, she had 2 interviews (Bakers delight which was done on the spot.... and Pizza Hut had rang to arrange a time for an interview) and by 2 pm she was offered a job at Pizza Hut with the option of a 2 year traineeship, to be done after school and weekends...(We said she could work till 8pm school nights.)
She has accepted the job and starts training on Monday. She isnt sure weither she is going to accept the traineeship. I told her it is a great opportunity for someone who hasn't even turned 14 yet.
By the time she finishes the traineeship IF SHE ACCEPTS IT She will be nearly 16 with a TAFE qualification. AND the step up option to a Junior Store Manager.
Its a great big committment for her and I have asked her to try to put the decission of accepting it off as long as possible. I think she should see if she likes the job first and if she gets on with her work mates. PLUS I dont think she realizes how much it is going to interfere with her social life.............
